The Meller’s Chameleon is a beautiful new addition that should make your wish list. This beautiful new species is perfect for the intermediate or advanced breeders. Its unique coloration makes it a perfect show specimen. The Meller’s Chameleon comes from a region of western Tanzania near Lake Rukwa. melleri in captivity are usually gentle giants, and while they do stress easily, they rarely threaten their keepers with such a display. This chameleon, sometimes called the giant one-horned chameleon, is mainland Africa’s largest chameleon species. This bright green and yellow lizard grows to lengths of 2 to 2 1/2 feet (61 to 76 centimeters). Like all chameleons, its eyes can move independently.
What If I Get Bit? Fortunately, a chameleon bite rarely draws blood and is more shocking than painful, though it can hurt a bit and will likely scare a child. If it does break the skin, we recommend applying some antibiotics to kill any germs and placing a bandage over it. Otherwise, there is no cause for concern.
Meller’s Chameleon
The biggest of the chameleons from the African central area, enormous male T. melleri ordinarily arrive at 24 inches (61 cm) long, however outstandingly enormous examples have supposedly arrived at north of 30 inches (76 cm) long and have weighed 21 oz (600 g).
Females are by and large more modest than males, and have less evolved dorsal and average peaks. The top of this species is moderately little corresponding to the remainder of its body and has a more stretched shape in contrast with different chameleons in its genus.
